Wonderful to meet you! I’m a clinical psychologist, licensed in the states of California, Iowa, and Washington. I have specialized experience working with culturally diverse adults struggling with various mental health conditions or those hoping for self-growth. I also help couples who want to develop deeper intimacy, increase emotional safety, and communicate more effectively with one another.
I use a holistic approach to therapy that is centered on understanding you as a whole person. We will collaboratively set a treatment plan that integrates your cultural identities, goals, and preferences.
Throughout treatment, we will work on developing self-compassion, through which you can safely build the courage to identify the areas in your life that you want to work on, and make the hard, but worthwhile changes that are needed to live a values-consistent and meaningful life.
It's not easy working through shame, societal/cultural pressures, trauma, and pain alone. My clients often express relief after just one session, because they were able to share the distressing/shameful thoughts they've been holding in. Many clients cultivate a deep sense of safety within themselves and feel empowered to take on life's challenges as they continue the meaningful work of therapy. On a weekly basis, some clients are given practice assignments to progress towards their goals.
