Great to meet you!

I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a born-and-raised New Yorker — which means I understand the specific kind of stress this city creates, and I'm not going to pretend otherwise. Over the past 20 years I've worked in psychiatric hospitals, community mental health settings, and private practice, supporting people through some of the most difficult chapters of their lives. My style is direct and warm. I don't waste your time, and I won't talk around the things that actually matter. I work with adults and seniors, individuals and families, and I have deep experience supporting people across the LGBTQIA+ community — including those whose lives or identities aren't well understood by many therapists. Whatever brings you here, you'll be met with honesty, genuine care, and zero judgment.

My approach to therapy

My approach is eclectic by design — I draw from psychodynamic therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), and Motivational Interviewing depending on what you need and what actually works for you. I don't believe one method fits every person. Some clients want to understand the roots of their patterns. Others need practical tools right now. Many need both. What stays consistent is the relationship: I believe the most healing work happens in a space where you feel genuinely understood, not managed. We'll work collaboratively to identify what's keeping you stuck and build concrete skills to move through it — at a pace that makes sense for your life.

What you can expect from me

Expect an honest conversation, not an intake form read aloud. In our first session, I'll ask you about what's been going on, what's brought you to therapy now (as opposed to six months ago), and what you're hoping to feel or do differently. You don't need to have your story perfectly organized before you arrive — we'll figure out together what's most important to focus on. By the end of the session, you should have a sense of whether working together feels right. I'll share my initial thoughts and we'll talk about what a realistic path forward looks like. There's no pressure to commit to anything in that first hour — just come in, be honest, and we'll go from there.
