Great to meet you!

Hello! My name is Gracie Berntsen. I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and am Perinatal Mental Health Certified (PMH-C). I enjoy working with the perinatal population supporting people through the tough roads of infertility, loss, pregnancy, postpartum, parenting, and beyond. I also thrive working with young adults wanting to learn more about themselves and the patterns they are living in.

My approach to therapy

I ground my work in a person-centered lens, meaning the client is the expert in their life and I provide guidance and direction to help the client navigate their worries. I use an eclectic combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and others to help clients recognize maladaptive thought patterns, to engage in their values and goals, and support internal validation and self-worth. I am trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (similar to EMDR) to support stuck emotions and trauma processing.

What you can expect from me

We will start by discussing the client's goals and hopes for therapy. I will also bring awareness to areas I believe may be holding the client back and support them in living the life they hope for. I strive to provide a calm, supportive, non-judgmental space for my clients to share their feelings. I promote an open discussion where the client and I discover their unmet needs and process heavy emotions. My goal is to make sure the client never feels alone in their struggles.
