Great to meet you!

Hello/Hola, I’m Graciela Martinez-Vela. I’m an LPC, LCDC, NCC, and NCAC I with over 20 years of experience walking alongside people through life’s challenges. My style is warm, down-to-earth, and empowering—I believe you already have strengths within you, and therapy can help bring them forward. I’m here to offer a safe, supportive space where you can feel heard, encouraged, and ready to take meaningful steps toward healing, purpose, and fulfillment.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and deeply person-centered. I draw from Rogerian, humanistic, existential, and solution-focused approaches, which means I believe each person has the capacity for growth, healing, and meaningful change. I work with clients in a supportive and nonjudgmental way, helping them explore who they are, what they value, and what steps can move them toward the life they want.

I also use evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help clients identify unhelpful thoughts, build healthier coping skills, and create practical change. Trauma-informed care is especially meaningful to me, not only professionally, but personally, as someone with lived experience. I strive to create a safe space where clients feel understood, empowered, and supported as they move toward healing, confidence, and purpose.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, clients can expect a warm, welcoming, and nonjudgmental space where they can begin sharing their story at their own pace. My goal is to help clients feel heard, understood, and supported while we explore what brought them to therapy and what they hope to gain from the process.

Together, we will identify concerns, strengths, goals, and any immediate needs so we can begin creating a plan that feels realistic and meaningful. I approach the first session with compassion, curiosity, and respect, knowing that starting therapy can feel vulnerable. Clients can expect a collaborative experience focused on building trust, creating safety, and taking the first step toward healing and positive change.
