Great to meet you!

Welcome! Since space is limited, let's hit the ground running! I have been a counselor since 2003 and am licensed in Virginia, Texas, and Pennsylvania. Prior to this, I worked as a respiratory therapist, so I am familiar with the stress medical personal face, as well as issues related to trauma, death and dying. In particular, I enjoy working with those who are struggling with existential questions or have suffered moral injury.

My approach to therapy

Bearing in mind that no one is perfect, I attempt to meet clients where they are at in their process. Some may want brief solutions to a specific problem, while others may desire a structured exploration of the origin of the challenges they face. I tend to work from a framework that values the existential questions, such as "who am I" or "what is the meaning of life", valuing the experience of others, often drawing from traditional Cognitive Behavior Therapy techniques, such as the ABC model.

What you can expect from me

Clients should expect to feel heard, challenged, educated, encouraged, and hopeful, although this may vary from session to session.
