Great to meet you!

I am an experienced LMFT with a PhD and draw on many types of therapies to help you resolve distressful events and reach your goals. I use CPT, EMDR, and IFS with adults. I am LGBT-affirming and work extensively with members and allied in our community. Also, I am certified in TraumaPlay to help children and teens. I use Gestalt and Synergetic Play Therapies with children and teens. I want to hear how you view the world, find ways to resolve what does not work, and support your strengths.

My approach to therapy

There are many ways to practice therapy, depending on the interests, goals, qualities, and needs of each person in treatment. I use an integrative approach to therapy and draw on trauma - informed approaches, working to resolve past traumas as well as here and now practical issues that cause distress, and collaboratively guide each client to develop a more empowering and connected version of themselves.

What you can expect from me

First, clients tell me they feel heard, respected, and understood. Depending on the goals and methods, clients may have homework, reflection, or creative assignments, and learn skills in session to apply in their lives. Clients are collaborators, so we take the best of my training and experience, apply it to your needs and goals, and develop a personal plan for your treatment and recovery. In the end, you develop a new understanding and way of relating that helps you in the world.
