Great to meet you!

Witnessing people heal and change their lives for better is very rewarding; it brings meaning into my work. My own life journey as an immigrant and as a woman enhances my approach. I make it a priority to continue my learning about cultural diversity and social justice; they speak to my heart and challenge me to grow as a therapist and as a human being.

My approach to therapy

I believe providing acceptance and unconditional understanding of another human being promotes healing from deep attachment injuries. In addition, expanding a client’s toolbox of skills can help with some practical issues, such as social functioning, communication difficulties, planning, obsessive tendencies, or emotional outbursts. I am trained in emotion-focused therapy, psychodynamic therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and interpersonal therapy.

What you can expect from me

My first and foremost goal is to make sure clients feel heard and feel hopeful about the process of therapy and their own growth. During our work together, I usually invite client to assess progress every three months and re-establish or update goals for therapy. Sometimes, I implement homework assignments, especially when practicing a certain skill. I mostly work with adults and couples and often implement family therapy sessions to address some core issues.
