Great to meet you!

Starting therapy can feel vulnerable, and finding the right counselor matters. As a Korean American counselor, I bring more than 15 years of experience supporting individuals, couples, and families through mental health concerns, relationship and family conflict, cultural or religious distress, and questions of identity.

After completing a five-year residency at the former GAPC, I became a fully licensed professional counselor in 2010. Since then, I have worked in clinical and academic settings, including as a full-time faculty member at three universities. I have taught counseling, psychotherapy, and Bowen Family Systems Theory, and supervised counselors-in-training.

My work is grounded in respect for each client’s unique story, culture, relationships, and values. I aim to create a thoughtful, supportive space where you can feel understood and begin making meaningful progress.

My approach to therapy

I believe no single therapy approach can capture the full complexity of a person. That’s why I use an integrative, holistic approach tailored to your needs and goals. Depending on what feels most helpful, our work may draw from existential, person-centered, cognitive behavioral, Adlerian, psychoanalytic, psychodynamic, spiritually integrated, intercultural, relational, and family systems therapies.

Together, we’ll explore your experiences, identify patterns that may be affecting your well-being, and work toward greater clarity, connection, and growth. I speak both English and Korean.

What you can expect from me

You can expect a safe, respectful, and supportive environment where you can openly share what brings you to therapy without fear of judgment. In our first session, we’ll discuss your concerns, goals, the structure of counseling, and possible therapeutic approaches. I’m happy to answer your questions so you feel informed and comfortable with the process.

As we move forward, we’ll work together at a pace that feels manageable and meaningful, with space to understand your experiences and build toward the changes you want to make. I look forward to meeting with you.
