Great to meet you!

The type of work I love most involves unraveling the ways in which our past affects our present, and rediscovering our connection to ourselves. This includes working through past traumas, redefining how we show up in relationships, and understanding the nervous system. I find that many of the issues people want to explore are defense mechanisms from the past- such as perfectionism, keeping busy, anxious/avoidant attachment, and even dissociation. Whether your trauma was a single incident, a period of time, or a relationship, we’ll go beyond talk therapy and use evidence-based tools to help you process, feel, and move forward.

My approach to therapy

I believe each person needs a unique approach to therapy. Together we will identify what feels most important to you, and the tools that work best with your personality. Another element of my approach is a holistic approach that honors that our mental health is influenced by many factors- which means we will look at movement, nutrition, sleep, current and past relationships, and the nervous system as part of your treatment. I'll always work within your worldview and support your value-system, making sure you feel safe and seen in our work together.

What you can expect from me

Whatever your goals are, we will use tools that go beyond talk therapy to really help you process and move through past experiences. All of the tools include somatic (or body) elements. The modalities I use most include mindfulness, nervous system mapping, EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing), IFS (internal family systems, sometimes called ‘parts work), breath work, ACT therapy (acceptance and commitment therapy) and elements of somatic experiencing.
