Great to meet you!

Welcome! My name is Haleigh, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Georgia. I specialize in working with preteens, adolescents, and young adults, as well as older adults. I sincerely enjoy working with individuals who are resistant to counseling and may not see the benefit immediately. This may include children struggling with behavior, clients that are mandated to receive counseling, or older adults that may not initially see value in therapy. It is such a joy to show people how counseling can help them find their own voice and make their own decisions. I also enjoy working with typical preteen and adolescent issues, such as self-esteem, impulsivity, anxiety, identity development, and social difficulties.

My approach to therapy

I use many approaches when working with clients, depending on what techniques the client responds best to and feels the most comfortable with. I work with CBT and somatic therapies, integrating the mind and body. I aid clients in identifying what is within their control, changing those things, and accepting things they have no control over (ACT). I aim to help clients identify what experiences are contributing to "the problem" and to develop skills that address current issues by drawing from previous life events.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, clients can expect to learn about the counseling process and ask any questions they may have. Together, the client and I discuss what has made them seek counseling and what they wish to get out of the sessions. We then create goals and list ways that we will use our time together to work towards those goals. It is my hope that after a first session, my clients leave feeling as though they have a nonjudgmental space to learn about themselves, heal some old wounds, grow as a person, and challenge those beliefs that have made life just a little more difficult.
