Great to meet you!

I enjoy working with adults and specialize in helping people who are negotiating difficult life transitions and stressors related to anxiety, depression, relationships, work and health issues. I graduated with a Masters in Social Work in 1995. Over the course of my career, I have worked in multiple settings including community mental health, crisis services, hospital and geriatric facilities. At the end of a session together, I hope you'll feel not only hopefull and supported, but also better equipped to understand and cope with your unique feelings and stressors. I would like to partner with you to work towards positive change and improved well being.

My approach to therapy

Most importantly, my approach to therapy begins with a warm, non-judgmental and supportive environment. I hope to convey a deep understanding of the unique feelings and thoughts you bring to therapy. I believe in a collaborative approach where we develop goals together and work as a team to help you gain clarity, confidence and emotional well-being. I pull techniques from several therapeutic styles including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy(ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, psychodynamic and humanistic theory, and mindfulness practices.

What you can expect from me

In our first session together I want to get to know you. My goal is to establish a welcoming and trusting environment. My hope is you'll feel comfortable even though it's likely a very difficult time for you and initiating therapy can be scary. I'll ask about your present issues, your history and what you hope to get from therapy. We'll cover any logistics about the therapy process. All questions or concerns are valid! Finally, we'll check in on how you feel about the session and whether you feel we're a good fit.
