Great to meet you!

I know the process of seeking out a compatible therapist can be inconvenient and intimidating. Most people don't want to re-explain their background to someone new, let alone talk about past trauma. It's often easier to suppress those unpleasant emotions and memories. My hope is to help you get to a place where you can establish new boundaries, process what's holding you back, and set self-improvement goals for the future.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is person-first. I'll walk with you as you explore and examine the things taking up mental space that prevent you from moving forward. I enjoy using trauma-informed modalities for cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness, and solution-focused therapy, as well as EMDR. You'll find my style conversational and relaxed.

I have 15 years of eclectic experience in community mental health and crisis settings. I've worked with a lot of different populations (veterans, unhoused, LGBTQ+, cardiac/transplant/chronic disease patients) and use this perspective to foster a warm, nonjudgmental environment where (I hope!) you can feel comfortable.

What you can expect from me

Once we've met for a short phone consultation, you can expect the first few sessions to include information gathering so I can get to know you and the experiences that have shaped your life. From there we will collaboratively create a treatment plan tailored to your individual needs.
