Great to meet you!

I’m a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with clinical training at Bellevue Hospital and Mount Sinai in New York City, and I teach mental health nursing at CUNY. I provide bilingual (Farsi/Dari and English) psychiatric care for adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, and mood disorders. I specialize in working with Afghan, Iranian, and Muslim communities, offering culturally sensitive care for those who may feel misunderstood in traditional settings. My approach combines medication management with practical, structured support—focused on helping you gain clarity, feel heard, and move forward with a plan that fits your life.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative and thoughtful. I take time to understand what is happening in a patient’s life before recommending treatment. When medication is appropriate, I focus on using the smallest effective intervention while also addressing lifestyle, stress, and behavioral patterns that influence mental health. My goal is to help patients feel informed, comfortable asking questions, and confident in the treatment plan we create together.

What you can expect from me

The first session is focused on understanding your story. We will talk about your symptoms, mental health history, stressors, sleep patterns, and previous treatments. I ask detailed questions so we can identify what is truly driving the symptoms rather than rushing into quick solutions. By the end of the appointment, we usually develop a clear treatment plan together that may include medication options, therapy strategies, or lifestyle adjustments.
