Great to meet you!

Do you like horses? I believe healing happens in relationships, with ourselves, with others, and with the natural world around us. My path to becoming a therapist has always been rooted in a deep respect for both human resilience and the calming, grounding presence of animals.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with both a Bachelor's and a Master’s degree in Social Work (a minor in Criminology) and over seven years of clinical experience supporting individuals across a variety of settings, including private practice, forensic social work, residential programs, telehealth, and community outreach. Throughout my career, I have worked alongside adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, trauma, depression, life transitions, emotional regulation challenges, and relationship stress. I also have experience supporting individuals involved in the legal system, which has deepened my understanding of how stress, environment, and personal history shape behavior and coping.

Hanna’s Healing Hounds & Hooves, LLC was created from my vision of offering therapy that extends beyond the traditional office setting. As a certified equine-assisted psychotherapy provider, I integrate nature-based and somatic approaches to help clients reconnect with their bodies, build emotional awareness, and develop healthier patterns of coping. I feel honored to do this work and to witness the ways people grow when given the right environment, support, and compassion.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in trauma-informed care. I strive to create a space where clients feel safe, seen, and empowered to move at their own pace.

I integrate traditional talk therapy with somatic, mindfulness-based, and nature-centered practices. Horses, in particular, offer powerful opportunities for mindfulness, boundary setting, trust building, and nervous system regulation, often reaching places that words alone cannot.

Whether we are walking alongside a horse, pausing to notice the rhythm of the outdoors, or reflecting together on life’s challenges, my goal is to help clients cultivate clarity, resilience, and a stronger connection to themselves.

I view therapy as a partnership where curiosity, compassion, and emotional safety guide the process. Together, we explore patterns, build coping skills, and create meaningful change that aligns with each client’s values and goals.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is a gentle and supportive space where we focus on getting to know one another. Clients can expect a conversation about what brings them to therapy, their goals, past experiences, and what they hope to gain from our work together. There is no pressure to share everything at once, we move at a pace that feels comfortable and respectful.

Clients can choose between virtual sessions or in-person equine-assisted psychotherapy sessions where a horse may be present.

In-person sessions often include time outdoors for grounding, observation, and connection with the horses, but no prior horse experience is needed.

Virtual sessions provide the same level of care and intentionality, offering a convenient and accessible option for those who prefer meeting from home.

Above all, clients can expect a calm, welcoming environment where they feel heard, supported, and empowered to begin their healing journey.
