Great to meet you!

I specialize in working with children and their parents. I believe that therapy can improve parent and child relationships, support children’s understanding of their emotions, process traumatic experiences, improve self-esteem, and/or reduce feelings of anxiety. Many children are searching for a sense of belonging and use play as their primary language, so it can be challenging for adults to meet a child where they are.

My approach to therapy

I am credentialed as a Registered Play TherapistTM through the Association for Play Therapy. I believe that play is the primary language of children and can be implemented in therapy to meet a child in a developmentally appropriate way. I utilize Adlerian play therapy based methods to encourage children to make meaningful changes and experience deep joy when they feel seen and safe. I have worked with children who have experienced severe abuse and neglect, struggle with anxiety and depression, or are having difficulty controlling their impulses.

What you can expect from me

I chose Embodied Compassion as the name of my practice based on compassion being defined as a deep understanding and care for someone else that is felt in one’s gut. This understanding of compassion transformed my practice as I could utilize my inner knowing to connect compassionately with clients rather than surface level empathy. My hope is that all children and parents who meet with me feel that I have a deep understanding of their experiences and/or is always offering curiosity instead of judgment.
