Great to meet you!

Hi, my name is Hannah and I am a Clinical Social Worker licensed in New York State. I received both my Bachelor and Master degrees from Stony Brook University and have been working in the field for 5 years. I specialize in depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, trauma & PTSD, and relationship/family issues.

My goal is to provide a laid-back, comfortable, & safe environment for my clients, so they feel the trust & ease to actively engage in their therapy. I use a person-centered, collaborative approach, enabling clients to make desired changes in their lives. I also focus on building self-worth & confidence so they feel empowered to face the challenges that brought them to therapy.

My approach to therapy

I use an eclectic approach of different modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), as well as many others. I am also trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for the treatment of PTSD. My approach is informed by the understanding that our relationships, family experiences, and past shape how we feel, behave, think, & view ourselves in the present.

What you can expect from me

I believe therapy works best when clients are in the driver’s seat. You get to decide what you want to work on and what change would look like for you. My role is to support you, ask thoughtful questions, and help you move toward the goals you’ve identified. My approach is flexible and tailored to each person. Everyone has different needs, personalities, and ways of learning, so I adjust my style based on what feels most helpful to you. We’ll collaborate to find what works. I also believe fit matters. Not every therapist is the right match for every person, and that’s okay. In our first sessions, I’ll ask questions to better understand what you’re looking for and to make sure I’m the right person to support you. If I’m not, I’ll help guide you toward someone who may be a better fit.
