Great to meet you!

In my counseling practice I believe that each person makes sense in the context of their story. My personal goal as your counselor is to walk alongside you, as you make sense of your story—to find hope and healing. I believe in a person-centered approach to therapy, which means we are co-creators in your path to wholeness. I believe it takes incredible strength and courage for you to be here, seeking the support and help you need.

I received my Master’s in Marriage and Family Counseling/Therapy from Trevecca Nazarene University in 2018 and have been practicing as a therapist for more than 5 years. I currently hold a license in Marriage and Family Therapy (license #1598) to practice in the state of TN. I see clients with an array of presenting issues, but some of the most common are anxiety, depression, trauma/abuse, spiritual issues, chronic pain/illness, and minority/multicultural issues.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I approach counseling in a collaborative way, understanding that you as the client are the expert on your life, story and experiences. I believe in coming alongside you, the client, to formulate goals for your therapeutic journey so that you will be able to take ownership and thrive in the process. Some of the modalities I apply in therapy include: Narrative, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Bowenian, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Attachment theory and Spiritually Integrated Psychotherapy. Keep in mind that as I apply these modalities, I believe in always keeping the client’s needs central, using the approach that best fits the presenting problems, as well as the main modalities I am well versed in.

What you can expect from our first session

As a client you can expect to be met with curiosity and also compassion, in a way that makes you feel seen and heard. My hope is that as the therapeutic relationship grows, I can challenge you when needed but also support you, the client, to find your own intuitive journey on your path to healing. My longing is for you to walk away from sessions, encouraged and equipped with new strategies, but also empowered to continue to pursue your own self-growth.
