Great to meet you!

Maya Angelou said, “There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you”, and this understanding shapes my approach to therapy. In my years of treating trauma and the addictive behaviors that can arise from traumatic experiences, I have seen how buried memories and untold stories can cause incredible pain and loneliness. My first goal in my work as a therapist is to create a space where your stories can be told and will be offered the attention and care they deserve.

My approach to therapy

My career as a therapist has been spent treating unhealthy and addictive behavior patterns by unpacking and processing the traumas that lead to those patterns. I teach coping skills and incorporate concepts from several different modalities, including CBT, ACT, IFS, and mindfulness to help you gain a better sense of understanding and control over your thoughts and your behaviors. I use EMDR to help process past traumatic memories and change current thought and behavior patterns.

What you can expect from me

As your therapist, I will teach you tools and skills to both understand your emotions and behaviors, and to change how you respond to painful or triggering situations. I think of therapy as teamwork; you know yourself better than anyone else and you are the one who will benefit most from making changes in your life. My role in your healing work is that of a guide, a listening ear, and a fellow human being joining you on this part of your journey, who wants to see you succeed!
