Great to meet you!

Dr. Strom was born and raised outside of Seattle, WA before she completed her Bachelors degrees in Psychology, Mathematics, and Philosophy at Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY. She first came to Florida for her graduate training at Florida Institute of Technology (FIT), where she earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Integrated Behavioral Healthcare. She has been a part of the Gulfshore Behavioral Health team since January 2023.

Outside of her professional work, Dr. Strom enjoys cooking, baking, sewing and other crafts, exploring new restaurants and local activities, practicing yoga, traveling when possible, and spending time with her dog and partner.

My approach to therapy

Dr. Strom has worked with individuals across ages, racial backgrounds, socioeconomic status, and mental health concerns but specializes in working with adults with PTSD using Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). She is also experienced in treating adults who suffer from depressive and anxiety disorders, stress, sleep problems, emotional dysregulation, and physical health-related problems like chronic pain. Aside from trauma-focused therapy methods, she primarily uses CBT, ACT, and DBT skills training.

What you can expect from me

Dr. Strom will welcome you into each and every session with warmth and compassion. At the intake session, you can expect to talk about the problem that brought you to the appointment, your symptoms, and the greater context of your life outside of these problems. Typically, by the end of the first session, you and Dr. Strom together will identify your goals and the best therapeutic methods to support your work toward those goals.
