Great to meet you!

I'm an LMFT with 8 years of experience helping adults, couples, and families find their footing again — and I bring a cultural lens that most therapists simply can't. As a Black woman, I understand that what you're carrying isn't just personal. It's shaped by family history, community expectations, and pressures that don't always get talked about in traditional therapy spaces. My sessions are direct and warm, never clinical or performative. I work with people dealing with anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, OCD, and relationship stress, and I'm deeply comfortable sitting with the complicated stuff — the stories that don't have a clean ending yet. I also provide affirming care for LGBTQIA+ individuals and couples. I offer telehealth sessions throughout California, and I currently accept Aetna, Blue Shield of California, Carelon Behavioral Health, and Cigna.

My approach to therapy

My approach is built around you — not a single framework or a fixed protocol. I draw from CBT, Trauma-Focused CBT, Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Gottman Method (for couples and families), and Attachment-Based therapy, and I blend what's most useful for what you need in any given session. I don't believe in one-size-fits-all. Some people need tools and structure. Others need space to process and be heard without someone jumping in with advice. Often it's both, and that shifts from week to week. I also pay attention to the cultural context of your story — because race, identity, and family systems don't exist in a vacuum, and good therapy has to acknowledge that. My goal is for every session to feel like progress, even on the hard days.

What you can expect from me

Expect a real conversation, not an intake form read back to you. I'll ask what's bringing you in, a bit about your background, and what you're hoping to get out of our work together — but there's no pressure to share everything at once. We move at your pace. By the end of the first session, you'll have a clearer sense of what we'll focus on and how I can best support you. Most people leave that first session feeling a kind of relief — like they've finally found a space where they can be honest. That's what I'm here to create.
