Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Heather Eden, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas and the founder of Balance Therapy and Coaching. My path into counseling grew out of a lifelong passion for supporting others through life’s challenges. That passion led me to earn a Master of Science in Licensed Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University, following a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing.

Since opening my practice in 2019, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside individuals as they heal, grow, and discover their strength. I specialize in working with Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, Trauma, Self-Esteem, Codependency, Personality Disorders, Substance Use, Eating Disorders, and major life transitions such as career shifts and parenting struggles. Drawing from evidence-based approaches including DBT, CBT, Mindfulness, and Narrative Therapy, I help clients build resilience, deepen self-awareness, and move toward lasting change.

Beyond the therapy room, I am also an author with a heart for empowering and supporting women, and individuals who have experienced trauma. I understand the delicate balance between personal growth and life’s demands, and I bring this perspective into the way I support my clients. Outside of counseling, I enjoy time with my family and pets, exploring the outdoors, writing, and capturing life’s beauty through photography.

At the core of my work is a simple belief: therapy should be a safe and compassionate space where you feel truly heard and supported. Whether you’re navigating trauma, struggling with self-worth, or searching for clarity and direction, I am here to walk alongside you with empathy and guidance. Together, we’ll work toward restoring balance and creating the life you long for.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is holistic, compassionate, and client-centered. I believe that healing happens when we address the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—while creating a safe and supportive space for self-discovery and growth.

I integrate evidence-based modalities such as:

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) – to build emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and mindfulness skills.
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – to help reframe negative thought patterns and develop healthier coping strategies.
  • Mindfulness-Based Therapy – to cultivate presence, self-compassion, and inner peace.
  • Narrative Therapy – to help clients reshape their personal stories and step into empowerment.

At Balance Therapy and Coaching, I take a strengths-based approach, meeting you where you are and working collaboratively toward your goals. Whether you’re struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, or self-esteem, I help you gain the skills and insight needed to find clarity, balance, and purpose.

Therapy isn’t about “fixing” you—it’s about empowering you to heal, grow, and live authentically. You already have the strength within you; I’m here to help you uncover it.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect to walk away from our sessions with a deeper sense of self-awareness, emotional resilience, and practical tools to navigate life’s challenges. My goal is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you feel heard, validated, and empowered to make meaningful changes.

What You’ll Gain from Therapy with Me:

✔ Clarity & Self-Understanding – We’ll explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences to help you gain insight into patterns that may be holding you back.

✔ Coping Strategies & Skills – Whether it's managing anxiety, setting healthy boundaries, or improving emotional regulation, I’ll equip you with evidence-based tools like DBT, CBT, and mindfulness techniques to help you navigate daily life.

✔ Healing from Trauma & Emotional Wounds – If you’ve experienced past trauma, we’ll work together to process and heal in a way that feels safe and empowering.

✔ Increased Self-Compassion & Confidence – I’ll help you shift self-criticism into self-acceptance, fostering a healthier relationship with yourself.

✔ A Sense of Balance & Direction – Whether you're struggling with stress, relationships, or major life transitions, you’ll leave therapy with a renewed sense of control and purpose.

Most importantly, you’ll feel supported in your journey. Healing isn’t linear, but with the right guidance, you can build the life you deserve—one step at a time.
