Great to meet you!

Feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, or emotionally exhausted? You don’t have to carry it alone. Therapy can provide a space to slow down, process what’s weighing on you, and develop the tools needed to move forward with confidence

Life can be overwhelming, and sometimes it feels like you’re carrying more than anyone realizes. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, or simply feeling stuck, you don’t have to navigate it alone.

I’m Heather’Amelia Johnson, a Licensed Professional Counselor who believes healing happens when people feel genuinely seen, heard, and understood. I provide a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can be yourself without fear of criticism or shame.

I specialize in working with adults and adolescents experiencing anxiety, trauma, grief, life transitions, self-esteem challenges, relationship concerns, and attachment wounds. As an EMDR-trained therapist, I help clients move beyond survival mode, heal from painful experiences, and create healthier, more fulfilling lives.

My goal is simple: to help you find relief, gain clarity, and become the version of yourself you want to be.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy should feel like a conversation with someone who genuinely cares about your well-being while also providing the tools and guidance needed for lasting change.

I take a collaborative approach, meaning we work together to understand what’s keeping you stuck and identify practical solutions that fit your life. I tailor treatment to each client’s unique needs and draw from evidence-based approaches including EMDR, CBT, DBT, ACT, and attachment-focused interventions.

Together, we’ll:

• Understand patterns that contribute to anxiety, stress, and emotional pain

• Develop healthier coping skills and emotional regulation

• Improve self-confidence and self-worth

• Strengthen relationships and communication

• Process past experiences that may still be impacting your present

My goal isn’t to “fix” you—it’s to help you recognize your strengths, heal what’s hurting, and create meaningful, lasting change.

What you can expect from me

Starting therapy can feel intimidating, but your first session is simply a conversation.

We’ll discuss what brought you to therapy, the challenges you’re currently facing, and what you’d like your life to look like moving forward. I’ll take time to understand your experiences, answer any questions you have, and help you identify goals that feel realistic and meaningful.

You don’t need to know exactly what to say or have everything figured out before you begin.

Many clients leave their first session feeling:

• Relieved to finally talk openly about what’s been weighing on them

• More hopeful about their situation

• Better understood and supported

• Clearer about the next steps in their healing journey

My priority is creating a space where you feel comfortable, respected, and empowered from day one.
