Great to meet you!

I'm Heather Baker, LMHC and founder of Stillwater Therapy. I specialize in working with helpers — nurses, teachers, first responders, and caregivers — alongside LGBTQIA+ individuals, teens, and adults navigating trauma, anxiety, and substance use. I'm LGBTQIA+ affirming and social-justice oriented, and I believe your whole identity deserves to be seen in the room. No clinical scripts, no judgment — just grounded, real support from someone who actually listens.

My approach to therapy

I blend Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused strategies to help you build skills you can actually use in high-pressure, real-world situations — not just insight you forget by Tuesday. My style is warm, direct, and practical. We'll move at your pace, name what's really happening, and build tools that hold up under stress. I don't shy away from the harder conversations — that's usually where the most important work lives.

What you can expect from me

The first session is a real conversation — not an intake form read back at you. We'll talk about what's bringing you in, what you've already tried, and what you're hoping life could look like. I'll ask questions, you can ask me questions, and we'll figure out together if we're a good fit. You don't need to have it all figured out before you arrive. Just showing up is enough.
