I’m a Licensed Mental Health Therapist and have been in the Mental Health field for over 15 years. I help individuals, families, and veterans learn to recognize, cope with, and overcome whatever may be affecting their daily life and functioning. I am easy to talk to, work with, a good listener, someone who ensures understanding of what others are saying, asks questions (even tough ones), empathetic, challenges negative beliefs, non-judgmental, caring, supportive, validates feelings, and helpful.
Each client is unique and will have unique needs; there is no "one size fits all" approach in my opinion. Therapy is individualized to help clients feel empowered and to put them on a positive path toward growth and well-being. I find that Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and talk therapy are very effective in helping recognize issues, work through them, and be able to manage them.
While we can’t change or forget difficult situations of the past, we can work together to try our best to get to the root cause of your issues and process, accept, and work through them. Learning coping skills to help manage your emotions and reactions is also an important part of therapy. We will talk, collaborate, brainstorm, and work together to help you better understand and resolve challenges and conflicts, be empowered, gain back control, and move forward in a healthy, positive manner.
