Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Heather, a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, therapist, Co-Founder of Moving Mountains Counseling and Wellness, and, most importantly, a fellow human who understands that life can be both beautiful and really hard at the same time. I specialize in working with people who are feeling burnt out, overwhelmed, or stuck in perfectionism and people-pleasing loops often caregivers, high achievers, professionals, parents, students, and those living with or supporting someone through chronic or terminal illness. I also work with individuals navigating grief and loss, whether it's the death of a loved one, the loss of health, identity, or a life you imagined for yourself.

My approach to therapy

My approach blends empathy, compassion, and humor with evidence-based methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Somatic Therapy, and Psychodynamic Theory. Fair warning: I'm a firm believer that movement and exercise are some of the best-and most underused-medicines for our mental health! You heal your way- virtual sessions or in-person in Central MA where you can decide if you’d like to meet in my traditional office setting or walk and talk on a trail leading to echo lake.

What you can expect from me

I believe therapy works best when you can come exactly as you are-unfiltered, unedited, and ready to figure out what actually helps you feel like yourself again. Together, we'll explore the "why" beneath the symptoms and build tools to help you step out of survival mode and into a more peaceful, grounded, and balanced life.
