Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Play Therapist Supervisor providing comprehensive clinical diagnostic assessment, treatment planning, and evidence based individual, family, and group therapy to children and families for 24 years. I specialize with children 0-12 and with adults but am very experienced with treating children of all ages who have experienced trauma, struggle with anxiety, depression, family stressors, school and behavior problems. One of my passions is prevention and early intervention. Supporting the development of social-emotional skills in childhood allows for life-long positive impacts on families and children's overall emotional wellness, social and academic success.

My approach to therapy

I emphasize a strengths-based and solution focused approach to addressing your concerns. Whether through play, art, sandtray, books, or other experiential modalities we will work together as a team to develop a plan to help you and/or your child develop skills and abilities to best support everyone's needs. I use practices supported by research such as EMDR, Filial Therapy, Child Centered Play Therapy, Child Parent Psychotherapy, Incredible Years Child & Parenting Programs, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused CBT, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy.

What you can expect from me

Getting started with therapy is an important yet sometimes challenging step. I aim to meet you where you are and create a safe environment to provide and effective level of support so you or your child can achieve realistic goals for improving thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and overall functioning at home, school or in the community. I involve parents in whatever capacity they are willing and able so parents can also learn how to incorporate strategies, activities and interventions into their home. Using this approach, your child will have more opportunities to practice their skills and develop their abilities more effectively.
