Great to meet you!

I knew as an undergraduate student at Boston College I wanted to be in a helping profession. I focused my graduate studies on the impact of illness on the family and integrative health during my doctoral studies. The beginning part of my career was in pediatric clinical social work followed by 20 years in women's health at a Brown University based research hospital. I have been a clinical researcher and supervisor over the last ten years in decreasing stigma and promoting long-term recovery for those impacted by trauma and alcohol or substance use.

My approach to therapy

The therapeutic relationship is paramount in transformational change. I believe that the client is the expert of their own life and has unique strengths and gifts to enable growth. This therapeutic process is a collaborative effort between the client and myself.
