Great to meet you!

Hello, my name is Heather Liebswager. I am a licensed professional clinical counselor who specializes in healing trauma in children, adolescents, and adults. I use a person-centered approach in my therapeutic relationship: you set the pace to our sessions while I guide, interpret, support, and challenge you. I believe in welcoming all the various parts of you including the exiled, judged, shamed, inner-child parts of you to the session so that you can understand yourself more fully.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I utilize narrative therapy which invites you to shift your perspective so that new stories are created through gently processing the trauma and recognizing your innate strengths, allowing emotions to surface, healing from the past to unburden the part. During sessions you will be asked to observe your body sensations, practice deep breathing, and simple yoga poses to calm your traumatized part.

What you can expect from our first session

You’re the expert of your life and together we create new meanings for the stories you bring to therapy by embracing both mind and body during sessions.
