Great to meet you!

I am Heather Malin, and I am so glad you're here. I have been in the mental health field for over 15 years, working with people through all kinds of challenges: stress, anxiety, relationship issues, self-esteem, depression, and major life transitions. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Brigham Young University and a Master's degree in Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University. I am licensed in Utah, Nevada, Arizona, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania, and I offer telehealth sessions so that wherever you are, I can be there with you. I am also a trained Life Coach and enjoy helping both teens and adults step into more powerful, intentional versions of their lives.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, collaborative, and rooted in evidence-based practice. I draw on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused techniques, Client-Centered principles, and Psychodynamic work, weaving in DBT skills and Parts & Memory work as the situation calls for it. I believe that meaningful change happens when you feel truly heard and understood, so I take the time to understand your story, your strengths, and what matters most to you. Whether you're navigating a specific challenge or looking to grow in a more general sense, I meet you exactly where you are.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, you can expect a relaxed, judgment-free conversation where I get to know you and you get to know me. I'll ask about what's brought you to therapy, what you've been experiencing, and what you're hoping to get out of our work together. There's no pressure to share more than you're comfortable with. We go at your pace. By the end of our first session, my goal is for you to feel clear on next steps and confident that you've found the right fit. I love what I do, and I look forward to supporting you.
