Great to meet you!

I am Heather. I am a licensed marriage and family therapist with almost 20 years of experience. Additionally, I hold a doctorate in psychotherapy. My focus is to bring internal relief to the external stimuli as well as to bring recognition to the maladaptive patterns that have been created.

It has been my work as a therapist to help others understand their defense mechanism so that we can co-create healthy, functional ways of being. Often our childhood struggles, continue to affect us as adults. I found that being able to look at our childhood from an adult lens helps us to comfort our inner child.

My approach to therapy

I meet my clients where they are. I have experience using CBT, DBT, and other approaches, yet my primary focus is on psychoanalytic and Jungian perspectives.

What you can expect from me

We will explore patterns together and recognize what is working for you and what needs to be altered, so that you can grow and thrive in relationships. Learning how to communicate with ourselves, is the first step, learning how to communicate our needs with others is the next step. I also am skilled in working with couples and their communication struggles and individuals who need a safe place to talk.

I believe that goals need to be self-motivated and will meet you where you are. Some clients prefer to set specific goals others simply need a place to feel heard. I offer both.
