ADD/ADHD, Anxiety, Relationship Issues, Stress, and Trauma

Great to meet you!

I do great work with high achievers struggling with anxiety, complex trauma, and couples impacted by ADHD and/or autism. I also work well with Highly Sensitive People, with individuals seeking integrative psychotherapy & those that prefer somatic approaches to CBT.

I am neurodivergent, LGBTQIA affiliated and affirming, poly/kink friendly, and strive to be anti-racist. I recognize that growing up identified with a minority group can create trauma even if you never experience a specific incident that everyone else would call "traumatic."

A bit about my approach to therapy

I approach therapy holistically, bringing in awareness of the body to promote more integrated functioning. I am trained in yoga psychology and incorporate yoga interventions with clients who find this useful. I help individuals improve their "felt sense" experience, identifying and addressing triggers and regulating the nervous system to promote wellbeing. We can work on the story you tell yourself, in the way many people expect to do psychotherapy, or we can bypass it altogether to prioritize feeling healthy and well.

For couples impacted by ADHD and/or autism, we start with psychoeducation. We build scaffolding to improve symptom management and incorporate cognitive behavioral interventions specific to ADHD-impacted couples. We work on "hot button" issues and build more emotional safety. With mixed neurotype relationships, I help couples build a bridge between two different "cultures" or ways of being in the world, improving communication by identifying assumptions and increasing understanding of the other person's reality.

When I see couples impacted by ADHD or autism, my goal is to ensure neither person feels like the "identified problem" and we do not focus on one person changing without the other also changing with them.

What you can expect from our first session

I center my clients as the experts on their lives, rather than seeing myself as the authority that you should listen to. I offer skills to make different choices, and support developing greater insight into what got you where you are and how to get where you want to go. I encourage empowerment and agency, shining the light of awareness onto your choices rather than trying to make you choose differently. I also offer a safe space to experience nonjudgment. My work is often experiential and action-oriented.
