Great to meet you!

My name is Heather, and I prefer people refer to me as Heather, not Dr. Muxworthy. I have worked as a Psych RN, CNS, and NP for the past 35 years. My passion has been to work with people with bipolar disorder, major depression, anxiety disorders. I have a subspecialty in Personality Disorder. I am well versed in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, as well as Cognitive Therapy and other modalities. I am a therapist at heart and also can prescribe psychotropic medications.

My approach to therapy

I like to approach patients from a human perspective, direct but empathetic. My patients in the past have described me as "human, down to earth, no stuffy hierarchy or power struggle." I also teach patients about their symptoms, medications, and how to cope. For me it is less about a diagnostic label and more about the symptoms that interfere with your life every day.

What you can expect from me

Feeling more positive, hopeful, empowered, and supported.
