Great to meet you!

I received my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Columbus State University, and I'm licensed in the state of Georgia. I have worked with children, teens, adults, couples, and families going through life transitions, such as separation and divorce. I have also worked with individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, PTSD, mood disorders, and trauma. I have been a yoga instructor for more than 10 years and integrate mindfulness-based techniques, DBT, ACT, and Client-Centered Therapy into her counseling practice.

My approach to therapy

I take a holistic and integrative approach to therapy, which means that we'll decide together what will work best for you. We'll work with the mind-body connection with mindfulness-based techniques and interventions. Dialectical Behavior Therapy provides us with a framework to create productive coping skills and build emotional regulation skills. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy helps us identify our values in order to inform life choices. These approaches are evidence-based interventions that aid in symptoms of stress, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, ADHD, PTSD, suicidal ideation/self-harm, chronic pain, and substance use disorders.

What you can expect from me

I have worked with clients spanning from age 6 to 65+. I've also worked with families managing separation/divorce, as well as couples struggling with relationship issues or parenthood. Life transitions can lead to symptoms of anxiety and depression, as well as highlight unproductive patterns and coping strategies that can create more of a mess. Through evidence-based interventions, you'll develop healthier ways to navigate your own emotions and build skills to manage life's challenges.

I think it is important to consider the whole person, so we'll spend our first session taking an inventory of the different areas of your life. We'll work together to come up with your goals for counseling and how you'll know that you've made progress. We can discuss different types of therapy and see what works best for you. We'll also discuss the counseling process and expectations for both client and therapist.
