Great to meet you!

I am a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). I attended Western New England College where I completed a Bachelors of Art in Psychology (2007) and Alliant International University to complete both my Masters of Art in Marriage & Family Therapy (2009) as well as my Doctor of Psychology in Marriage in Family Therapy (2015). I specialize in peripartum care, maternal and paternal mental health. As a mom of twins and a survivor of postpartum depression, I have a special place in my heart for caregivers of multiples and those experiencing depression in the postpartum period. In addition, both of my girls were in the NICU and I consider my office a safe space for NICU and bereaved parents. I am eager to work with individuals in the prenatal and postpartum stages of parenthood and all the experiences and complications that come with that journey.

My approach to therapy

I work with my clients by supporting them in developing self-awareness and insight in the hopes to create a balance between mind, body, and spirit. I consider myself to take a client-centered/humanistic approach in therapy, collaborating with clients to help create positive change. I am aware that therapy is not a “one-size-fits-all” and use a strength-based approach to empower clients in developing strong coping and communication skills. I strive to provide a safe, welcoming, and non-judgmental atmosphere in my sessions that allow my clients to open up and talk about the often scary, uncomfortable, and messy parts of parenthood.

What you can expect from me

I think a session with me should feel like a supportive conversation with a good friend who happens to have expertise in the area of need. I believe in meeting clients where they are at and being authentic in my sessions. I always start with an introductory session, where you’ll have the opportunity to share your story and what you hope to achieve in therapy. We’ll work together to figure this out! I strive to create a warm, welcoming environment that allows you to feel comfortable sharing and being vulnerable, while also feeling secure. From there, we’ll work together in the sessions that follow to make these goals a reality for you.
