Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Heather Tillmann, LISW. I’m a licensed independent social worker with years of experience helping individuals, teens, and families navigate life’s challenges. I earned my master’s degree in social work from Walden University and have worked in a variety of settings, including community mental health, outpatient therapy, and private practice.

My practice is focused on creating a safe, supportive space where clients can explore their thoughts and emotions, build on their strengths, and find practical tools for growth. I specialize in areas such as anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life transitions, and family stressors. I also enjoy working with teens and young adults who are learning to manage emotions, relationships, and identity.

My approach to therapy

I take a collaborative, compassionate approach to therapy—drawing from evidence-based methods like CBT, DBT, and mindfulness techniques—while tailoring each session to meet your unique needs. My goal is to walk alongside you, helping you feel more empowered, balanced, and hopeful.

What you can expect from me

In our sessions, you can expect a supportive and nonjudgmental space where you are heard, respected, and encouraged. My goal is to help you feel safe exploring what’s on your mind while also giving you practical tools you can use outside of therapy.

Clients often take away:

  • Clarity about their thoughts, feelings, and patterns.
  • Coping strategies for managing stress, anxiety, grief, or conflict.
  • Improved communication and stronger relationship skills.
  • Confidence and self-compassion in navigating challenges.
  • A sense of direction and hope for what comes next.

I strive to create an environment that feels collaborative and empowering—where you can slow down, reflect, and practice new skills in a way that fits your life.
