Great to meet you!

I've spent 30 years in some of the hardest corners of mental health - two decades in the corrections system and several years doing crisis response in emergency rooms and on the street with New Jersey's mobile crisis teams. I've met people in their worst moments, which means I'm not easily shaken and I'm not going to flinch at whatever you bring into a session. I work with adults across the lifespan - with a particular love for older adults and geriatric clients - and I have deep personal and professional experience supporting adults on the autism spectrum. I'm direct, I have a sense of humor, and I believe the best therapy feels like a real conversation with someone who actually knows what they're talking about.

My approach to therapy

I draw primarily from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, and Seeking Safety - a research-backed model for trauma and substance use. I'm evidence-based, which means I'll work with you using techniques that actually have data behind them, but I adapt my approach to who you are and what you need. Sessions don't follow a rigid script. I pay attention to what's happening in the room and I'm not afraid to challenge you when I think it'll help. I also know when to listen without solving - and I know the difference. I see adults for individual therapy, with a focus on women's issues, life transitions, grief, caregiver burnout, sobriety support, domestic violence recovery, and autism spectrum experiences in adulthood.

What you can expect from me

Expect an honest conversation. I'll ask about what's going on now, what's brought you here, and what you're hoping therapy actually does for you. I won't have you fill out forms and sit in silence while I type - I want to actually meet you. The first session is about getting a real picture of your life: what's working, what's not, and what kind of support would actually help. By the end, we'll have a sense of whether we're a good fit and what working together might look like. I currently offer virtual sessions via telehealth with in-person sessions coming in fall 2026 in the Pike County, PA area. I hold evening and weekend appointments - Sunday through Thursday - because I know most people can't step away from work at 2 PM on a Tuesday.
