Great to meet you!

Call me Heidi. In my work, there's no hierarchy - just two humans collaborating. I lead with warmth, creativity, empathy, humor, and grounded support. I'm often told I have a naturally calming presence, especially when things feel overwhelming.

I'm a Nevada Licensed Clinical Social Worker trained in EMDR, with more than a decade of experience working in addiction treatment, and over 15 years specializing in care for LGBTQ+ individuals and communities.

My approach to therapy

My approach is to bring warmth, compassion, and irreverent humor into the therapeutic setting to foster genuine connection. I like to create balance and levity while addressing the heavy topics that often come up in therapy. I specialize in treating trauma, addictive issues, and am passionate about providing safe, identity-affirming space in support of LGBTQIA+ and other minority communities. I believe that therapy is most effective when it’s real and human—where laughter, honesty, and connection can coexist with growth and healing.

What you can expect from me

The first therapy session is like driving your car into the shop for an estimate. You might tell the mechanic you hear a funny noise; The mechanic will assess to accurately diagnose the issue, provide you with an estimate of what can be done to address the issue, and you decide if you trust the mechanic - personally, to leave your vehicle in their care, and professionally, to have the expertise and skills to resolve the issues.

This is what therapy will be like. We start by building rapport in a safe, confidential space, where you can tell me what is bringing you to therapy, and I can assess. I will provide feedback, psycho-educational information on the therapeutic frameworks that I specialize in, and techniques that I feel might be helpful. We will collaborate on creating a treatment plan, identifying your symptoms, goals, and evidence-based treatments we can practice in therapy sessions, and for homework to support your progress outside of therapy sessions.
