Great to meet you!

I look forward to building a therapeutic bond and helping to guide you through this journey we call "LIFE". I received my Master's degree in mental health counseling in October 2012. I have experience working in psychiatric hospitals, child abuse, substance abuse, and private practice. I am currently working on a marriage/couple's certification through the Gottman Institute. I love doing individual, couple's, and family therapy.

My approach to therapy

I believe the most important aspect of therapy in the therapeutic alliance and how well we interact together. I wish I can say I can work with anyone, but that would be untrue and arrogant of me. If you are not feeling the sessions are helping you move forward or comfortable enough to start sharing vulnerability then maybe trying a different therapist is best. I do my best to provide a safe, empathic, solution-focused approach while utilizing several different therapeutic techniques.

What you can expect from me

I have extensive experience working with how past childhood trauma affects your current adult relationships and how to heal from the subconscious, biological, and emotional aspects of trauma. I continually take certifications, classes, and training to keep up to date with my skills. I have a tendency to use worksheets, journaling, books, somatic therapies, yoga, and meditation with my clients.
