Great to meet you!

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with more than 15 years of experience working with individuals and families in healthcare, behavioral health, hospice, emergency services, child welfare, and community settings. I earned my Bachelor of Social Work from Texas A&M International University and my Master of Social Work from Our Lady of the Lake University.

My professional experience has allowed me to work with people from diverse backgrounds and through many different life circumstances. I have experience supporting LGBTQ+ clients and individuals dealing with substance use and addiction, as well as clients experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, grief and loss, trauma, relationship and family concerns, and major life transitions.

I believe that seeking support is a sign of strength, and I value creating a space where clients can be open about what they are experiencing. My goal is to help you better understand yourself, build on your strengths, and identify meaningful steps forward.

My approach to therapy

I take a client-centered and collaborative approach, recognizing that therapy should be tailored to the individual rather than follow a one-size-fits-all formula. I want to understand your perspective, what matters to you, and what you hope to accomplish through therapy.

My practice draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, trauma-informed care, and mindfulness. I may incorporate different techniques depending on your needs and goals.

Whether you're working through emotional challenges, navigating a major life change, addressing relationship concerns, or considering changes related to substance use, we'll focus on developing greater insight, practical coping skills, and strategies that can support lasting change.

What you can expect from me

The first session is primarily about getting to know you and understanding what brings you to therapy. We'll discuss your current concerns, relevant experiences, strengths, and what you would like to be different in your life.

I don't expect you to have everything figured out before we meet. We'll work together to identify priorities and establish goals that feel meaningful and realistic for you. I'll also explain how I approach therapy and make sure you have an opportunity to ask questions.

My hope is that you leave the first session with a clearer sense of direction and a better understanding of how we can work together. From there, we'll build a treatment approach that fits your needs and pace.
