Great to meet you!

Hello, I'm Hillary. I know selecting a therapist is difficult; you’re entrusting them with your vulnerabilities, important relationships, and distressing experiences. You may be resistant to the idea of therapy or “talking about it,” but you’re here because you know something could be better. I believe in creating a non-judgmental, supportive space as we work together to build emotional and relationship resiliency. My aim is to help identify and break negative cycles while fostering lasting change beyond therapy sessions. I have a passion for working with couples, first responders, active military or veterans, relationship loss/divorce, and trauma/PTSD.

My approach to therapy

I bring a well-rounded approach to my work, having worked in multiple settings within the mental health field, including community-based care for individuals with Serious Mental Illness (SMI), a psychiatric inpatient hospital and emergency center, a family support center, and traditional outpatient therapy specializing in relationship counseling. I take this work seriously and am committed to ongoing professional development to provide the highest level of care. I regularly pursue advanced training across multiple evidence-based modalities, including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Brainspotting, and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), allowing treatment to be thoughtfully tailored to each individual

What you can expect from me

We begin with a conversation to understand your concerns, goals, and history, and to determine the best path forward. Based on your needs, we develop a tailored approach using evidence-based methods that support meaningful, lasting change. There is no set length of therapy; it is tailored to each individual's needs and goals. Most clients start by attending weekly or biweekly sessions, and as the client gains stability and confidence, sessions may become less frequent, with a focus on maintaining progress and preparing for life beyond therapy. The goal is not lifelong treatment, but to equip you with the insight and tools needed to move forward independently.
