Great to meet you!

Hello, and welcome! I’m Hillary, a perinatal and attachment therapist. For 8 years, I've been working with those experiencing anxiety, trauma, relationship distress, and life transitions like new parenthood. I have advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and attachment theory--I use this to help my clients foster a secure attachment within themselves and in their most important relationships. I also specialize in EMDR and IFS for those with Complex-PTSD or childhood trauma.

My approach to therapy

I often find myself working with the following types of clients: 1. Adults in their 20s & 30s who might be struggling with anxious or avoidant attachment in their romantic relationships and are desiring to find a more calm and secure attachment within themselves and with their partners. This work often means unpacking early attachment relationships, childhood trauma, and reflecting on early patterns of connection and their impact on today. 2. New moms and couples entering parenthood. This is one of life's biggest transitions that often gets overlooked in the (understandable) excitement for a new baby to join the family. This transition often consists of identity shifts, joy, beauty, exhaustion, marital distress, grief, loss, and more.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, I'm listening for your goals and what brought you into therapy...why now? I'm going to ask questions that you might find in the adult attachment inventory and I'm going to ask you to tell me your story. I'll ask follow up questions along the way and I'll reflect things back to you as we go. We'll be building trust and getting to know one another.
