Great to meet you!

I'm a licensed clinical psychologist with over a decade of experience in issues around anxiety, depression, relationships, as well as aspects of identity including ethnicity, immigration, gender, and sexual orientation. I have also published in peer-reviewed journals, presented nationally on South Asian American mental health issues, and held leadership positions within national psychological associations.

My approach to therapy

Drawing from a number of theoretical orientations within Psychology, I believe that a supportive alliance is the sine qua non for effective therapy. My therapeutic style is empathic and collaborative so as to create a space where difficult emotions can be endured and where positive change can occur. I have training and experience in Psychodynamic therapy, CBT, DBT, and Exposure based therapies.

What you can expect from me

Psychotherapy provides a unique space where we can begin to understand our emotions, thoughts, and behaviors as a prequel or in parallel to moving them towards a more positive direction. My clients often begin by developing goals for therapy and then utilize both insight-oriented as well as practice based approaches to work on those goals.
