Great to meet you!

Hello, I've been a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for the last 34 years and have worked in social services, school, hospital and residential settings, directly helping children, adolescents, teens, young adults and families. I have seen what approaches are the most effective toward building trust and rapport quickly. I help with identifying the core issues underlying self-defeating thoughts and behavior and teach new strategies to manage uncomfortable thoughts, feelings and memories.

My approach to therapy

I have an eclectic therapeutic orientation, blending psychodynamic and family systems theories together. I view most client’s struggles as coming from their childhood experiences but present in day-to-day struggles at home, at school and in our personal relationships. I am mindful that past experiences may color your perceptions or influence your behavior.

What you can expect from me

Although therapists approach problems in different ways, most agree that good therapy should not take forever, no more than six months for most folks. Therapy with me is a shared experience whereby we each agree on a set of goals, a timeline, benchmarks where we can gauge success and most importantly, an exit strategy. Contact me and let's get to work! :-)
