Great to meet you!

I'm Holly! As your therapist, it is my goal to support you in becoming a better version of yourself.

To get started, I would like to share my educational background and professional experience. I graduated from Metropolitan State College with a double major Bachelor of Arts in Behavioral Science and Child Welfare. After I graduated, I spent time working at a private child placement agency for about 10 years part time while raising my children. As they got older, I decided it was time to move on to complete my Masters degree in Counseling at Regis University. Once I graduated, I gained my years of clinical experience through community mental health for three years and child welfare for 16 years. I started work in private practice near the end of my time in child welfare until I decided it was time to be a full-time private practice therapist.

My approach to therapy

I love to be present when my clients find a new way and authentically experience change. I've worked with clients from many walks of life and with varied needs. My areas of expertise are in Behavior Modification, Depression, Anxiety, Trauma, PTSD, Adoption related issues, complicated relationship issues, co-parenting issues, parenting issues. I use a holistic approach with several research-based interventions including DBT and Solution-Focused Therapy to help my clients bring out the best in themselves.

I like to use humor, challenging questions, and a direct approach because I think in counseling we should get to the point, and we should have fun doing it.

What you can expect from me

As your therapist, it is my goal to support you in becoming a better version of yourself. It is my belief that life's experiences teach things about the world that may no longer be the most helpful or true today; even if they were true at the time in our past. When we don't adapt and remain flexible, we find ourselves in a web of mistaken beliefs, thinking errors and unresolved life problems. As a result, it becomes too hard to find our way and manage life's challenges in the here-and-now.
