My name is Holly Bowling and I am a Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I started my nursing career in 2012 after graduating from Ball State University. I have had the opportunity to work in many disciplines where I was able to utilize my knowledge and skills required to provide for those with mental health issues, specifically, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and ADHD, allowing me the opportunity to continue pursuing my career, in mental health.
I like to provide an open, honest, laid-back, stress-free approach to treatment. I utilize the most up-to-date approaches to treatment by trusting in resources such as UpToDate, Epocrates, Stahl's, and the DSM-5. I mainly focus on medication management, while providing CBT throughout each session as needed. I want my clients to feel comfortable and know they are in a judge-free environment. With the hopes of leaving each session more improved than the last.
Initial sessions typically involve getting to know the client and building a therapeutic relationship. I like to focus on the main reason they are wanting to be seen and come up with a treatment plan for that specific issue, as well as short-term goals to work on for the next visit. Follow-up sessions (usually 4-6 weeks) will involve how the treatment is working and what adjustments, if any, need to be made, as well as any co-existing issues that the client would like to discuss at that time.
