Great to meet you!

You are brilliant, driven, and a little bit over being the only one who seems to be able to hold the full complexity of it all. From the outside it works, but inside there is an anxiety that rarely switches off, a standard of perfection no one sees the weight of, and a reflex to take care of everyone else first.

I’m Holly Coneway, a licensed professional counselor who works with leaders, executives, and high-functioning professionals on anxiety, perfectionism, chronic stress, and people pleasing. I hold an M.Ed. in Counseling from the University of Houston adn have been practicing for 10 years.

I have spent more than a decade with people in oil and gas, technology, construction, law, medicine, and finance, so I understand what it costs to carry a team, a company, or a family. I do not treat your drive as the problem.

My approach to therapy

I work in both depth and direction, moving between the two based on where you actually are that day.

My foundation is humanistic: I believe you are the expert on your own life, and I offer a warm, steady presence while keeping the work pointed toward where you want to go. We use practical skills from CBT and ACT for looping thoughts, perfectionism, and avoidance, anchored to what you value rather than what you fear.

I use parts-work to understand the part of you that over-prepares, over-delivers, and says yes, rather than fighting it, and narrative and values-based work to ask which parts of your story still belong to you.

I am warm and honest, I will name what I see gently, and I expect you to engage in a back and forth dialogue.

What you can expect from me

The first session is a conversation, not an intake interrogation. I will ask what brought you in, what is working, and what is costing you more than it should. By the end, you will have a clear sense of how I understand what you are describing, a first look at the pattern underneath it, and one or two things to notice before we meet again.

Together we will agree on a direction for the next few sessions based on your goals. The room is calm, private, and unhurried, and you do not have to arrive composed or have the right words.
