Great to meet you!

Dr Honorine Mufuwah is a dual Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with more than 20 years Nursing experience. Versatile Certified Nurse Practitioner with a reputation of consistently achieving high levels of patient satisfaction, we believe in providing authentic and empathetic holistic care based on current research and best practices tailored to individual needs, through assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients to help them achieve their goals. We also believe in treating patients with unconditional positive regard and encourage them to be an active participant in their journey to wellness.

My approach to therapy

What truly distinguishes us from others is our ability to approach mental health care holistically. Due to our dual certification as family and psych NP, our clinical focus is holistic by treating mental health conditions from both medical and emotional standpoint. We care for the whole patient and thus treat both psychiatric as well as any chronic medical conditions. Often there is a significant overlap between underlying medical and psychiatric disorders, and neither should be considered independently of the other. As is rare in the field of psychiatry, our background allows us to rule out any organic medical condition that can account for psychiatric symptoms. We go beyond medication management to empower patients with knowledge about their prescribed medications, including benefits, risks, and side effects, facilitating informed decision-making. We also work seamlessly with other mental health providers to incorporate psychotherapy when necessary to create personalized and comprehensive experiences that acknowledge the uniqueness of each individual mental health journey. Stop struggling on your own – Stop struggling to find a provider that will take the time to really get to know you and support you and come experience the transformative impact of having Dr Honorine as your provider towards a brighter and healthier You.

What you can expect from me

Dr. Honorine Mufuwah your Psychiatric mental health Nurse practitioner (PMHNP) utilizes the cognitive behavioral and biopsychosocial model when approaching patient care.

She believes in treating patients with positive regard and encouraging them to take an active part in their journey to wellness.

-She focuses on how the patient's thoughts, beliefs and attitudes affect their feelings and actions.

-She provides empathetic listening, assessments, psychoeducation, and inclusion of patients in the discussion and selection of available treatment options as much as possible.

-She focuses on treating the whole person, and not just a diagnosis.

She focuses on how the patient's thoughts, beliefs and attitudes affect their feelings and actions. With this she uses Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to teach coping skills for dealing with different mental health problems.
