Great to meet you!

I'm an EMDR-trained Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years of public policy experience, and I work with adults navigating trauma, PTSD, grief, depression, anxiety, and identity — including LGBTQ+ clients and members of the South Asian and Muslim communities.

My practice is grounded in the belief that what brings people to therapy isn't just individual pain — it's often the result of systems, cultures, and relationships that have left people feeling unseen, unsafe, or like they need to carry everything alone. I take that seriously. I won't ask you to leave your identity, your community, or your history at the door. Everything that makes you who you are is welcome in this space.

My approach to therapy

I adopt an intersectional and strength-based approach to therapy working to build a bridge between our mind, body, and spirit so we can exist as our holistic selves. I celebrate each client's unique journey and my work is rooted in collaborative healing. We will come together to understand patterns that are holding you back and then build a path forward that is empowering and true to where you want to be.

While I work with all individuals in marginalized bodies I focus on adult survivors of trauma who want to move beyond survival mode and build a more integrated sense of self. For trauma and PTSD, I use EMDR — a well-researched, body-inclusive approach that helps process painful memories without requiring you to talk about them in exhaustive detail.

I pay attention to how systems of oppression — racism, homophobia, anti-immigrant bias, religious stigma — can impact a person’s mental health, and I believe therapy that ignores those forces misses a huge part of the picture. My clients often describe our work as the first time they've felt both challenged and genuinely understood at the same time.

What you can expect from me

Once you are in the therapeutic space you are no longer alone in this healing journey. I create a warm, affirming, and judgement-free environment to share where you have been and where you want to go. Vulnerability can be challenging and we will work to define what our space needs to ensure you feel secure to share those parts of yourself.

If you're a Hindi or Urdu speaker who'd feel more comfortable switching between languages, that's completely welcome. If you're LGBTQ+ and wondering whether you'll have to explain yourself from the ground up, you won't. And if you're carrying cultural or family-related weight alongside whatever else brought you here, bring it — that context matters to me.

We will come together to define your goals and for you to start to name what is the story you want to write for yourself. From there we will work in future sessions to turn this story into your lived reality.
