Great to meet you!

Welcome! I’m Hope Barnes, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and founder of Beloved Joy Therapy. I bring over a decade of experience supporting individuals and families through life’s many transitions. My background includes work in medical and hospice settings, child and family therapy, and care coordination, which has deepened my ability to meet clients with compassion, understanding, and practical support.

I specialize in working with both children and adults, with a focus on trauma, anxiety, grief, depression, attachment, and relationship dynamics. My therapeutic approach draws from evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy, Attachment Theory, and Parent-Child Relationship Therapy. I am especially passionate about helping children and caregivers build emotional connection and resilience in a safe, nurturing space.

I currently offer telehealth services, as well as in-home therapy for children and families, to provide flexible and accessible support that meets clients where they are.

I believe healing begins when we feel seen, heard, and supported. As a therapist, I strive to create a safe and welcoming environment where growth is nurtured, stories are honored, and hope is restored.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, relational, and rooted in trust. I believe every person carries unique strengths and untold stories, and I aim to help clients feel safe, seen, and supported as we explore them together. I meet each client where they are—with curiosity, compassion, and without judgment.

I draw from a range of evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Play Therapy, Attachment Theory, and Trauma-Informed Care. For children and families, I often incorporate creative, play-based methods to support emotional expression and strengthen relationships. I pay special attention to how early experiences, family dynamics, and life transitions shape behavior, identity, and coping patterns.

Whether I’m working with a child learning to manage big emotions or an adult navigating grief, anxiety, or relationship struggles, I strive to offer a personalized experience grounded in empathy and empowerment. My goal is always to walk alongside you—to help you access your inner resilience and move toward healing and hope.

What you can expect from me

What You Can Expect

In our work together, you can expect a supportive and grounded space where your voice matters. Clients often leave sessions feeling more empowered, emotionally regulated, and equipped with tools to manage life’s challenges. Whether we’re unpacking difficult emotions, working through relationship struggles, or learning new coping strategies, my goal is to help you feel more connected to yourself and more confident in your ability to create meaningful change.

You can also expect honesty, compassion, and a healthy dose of encouragement. I focus on building strong therapeutic relationships rooted in trust, safety, and authenticity. Over time, many clients experience improved emotional awareness, stronger communication skills, and a renewed sense of hope.
