Great to meet you!

Sometimes life looks fine from the outside,

while inside you're overwhelmed, stuck,

disconnected, or wondering what happened

to the person you used to be.

Maybe you're dealing with ADHD, anxiety,

depression, relationship challenges, low

self-esteem, identity questions, or a major

life transition. Maybe you're starting over

and aren't quite sure what comes next.

You don't have to have everything figured

out before coming to therapy.

I'm Hope Striving, LPCC, and I believe

therapy should feel human. I offer a warm,

affirming, judgment-free space where you

can be honest, explore what's really

going on and feel genuinely heard.

I work with adolescents and adults,

with a particular interest in ADHD and

neurodivergence, LGBTQIA+ concerns,

identity development, relationships,

self-esteem, trauma, grief, and life

transitions.

I also believe there should be room

for humor, creativity, and authenticity

in therapy. My goal isn't to tell you how

to live your life, it's to help you better

understand yourself, recognize your

strengths, develop practical coping

strategies, and create meaningful

change that fits who you are.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative, person-centered, strengths-based, and trauma-informed. You are the expert on your own life, and my role is to help you make sense of what you're experiencing and identify what can help.

I draw from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and solution-focused techniques, adapting our work to your needs, goals, and comfort level.

Therapy isn't one-size-fits-all. Some days we may work on practical coping skills. Other times we may explore emotions, relationships, identity, self-esteem, or patterns that have been holding you back.

Most importantly, I want you to feel safe enough to be yourself. Progress happens when you feel supported, respected, and understand.

What you can expect from me

Starting therapy can feel vulnerable, even when you know you need support. You don't have to walk into your first session with a perfectly organized explanation of what's wrong.

Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another, talk about what brought you to therapy, and identify what you hope to gain from counseling. We'll move at a pace that feels comfortable wile beginning to identify your strengths, challenges, goals, and what support might be most helpful.

You can expect authenticity, compassion, collaboration, and when appropriate, a little humor along the way.

My goal is for you to leave therapy feeling more understood, more confident in yourself, and better equipped to navigate whatever comes next.
